COVID-19 Task Force: The Percentage Of Cured Cases In The World Tends To Decrease, But Indonesia Is Increasing

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito said that currently the average percentage of cases of recovery in the world tends to decline, while in Indonesia it is actually increasing.

Wiku explained, the percentage of cases recovered from COVID-19 in the world reached 73.49 percent. Meanwhile in Indonesia, the percentage of cases recovered to date has reached 81.3 percent or 322,248 people.

"The number of recovered cases in this world tends to decline recently, while the percentage of recovered cases in Indonesia tends to increase. This is good news that we must maintain, so that the recovery rate can continue to rise," Wiku said in a Youtube broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Tuesday, October 27.

There are five provinces with the highest increase in cure rates in Indonesia. The five provinces are Riau with an increase of 1,894 recovered cases, West Sumatra up 587, Southeast Sulawesi up 542, South Sulawesi up 127, and Jambi up 81.

Meanwhile, the highest percentage at the national level was Gorontalo with 94.47 percent, Bali with 89.8 percent, South Kalimantan with 89.5 percent, East Java with 88.16 percent, and North Maluku at 88.12. percent.

"We ask all provinces that have been mentioned to continue to maintain and increase the cure rate. To other provinces, compete to achieve the highest recovery rate," said Wiku.

Although the national recovery rate continues to improve, the number of recoveries this week has slowed down by 6.4 percent from the previous week.

"This is bad news. Supposedly, the number of cures must be maintained so that it continues to increase," he said.
