Airlangga Hartarto Affirms The United Indonesia Coalition Has Not Decided A Presidential Candidate For 2024
JAKARTA - The General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, emphasized that the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) has not announced a presidential candidate (candidate) that will be carried in the 2024 General Election.
"The KIB presidential candidate will be announced at a later time," he said in Jakarta, Sunday night.
He emphasized that the announcement had not been made in the near future, even though other political parties had announced their candidate for president. "Not for now," he said.
The statement was made by Airlangga when responding to the NasDem Party which carried three names as candidates for the presidential candidate.
Previously, the General Chair of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, announced three names to be carried in the 2024 Presidential Election.
The three names are DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo.

Some time ago, three general chairmen of political parties officially signed a memorandum of understanding for the formation of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB).
The signing was carried out by the general chairman of the Golkar DPP Airlangga Hartarto, the General Chair of the United Development Party (PPP) DPP Suharso Monoarfa, and the Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) DPP Zulkifli Hasan.
Airlangga Hartarto emphasized that the decisions taken in KIB are collective and collegial.
"Meeting with anyone is already known to other party leaders," said Airlangga as quoted by Antara.
He explained that the United Indonesia Coalition was formed to eliminate identity politics, increase party electability and complement each other among coalition members to build Indonesia.
