This BUMN Empowers People With Disabilities With Public Speaking Training

JAKARTA - PT Jamkrindo held public speaking training for people with disabilities in order to empower them by helping develop communication skills.

President Director of PT Jamkrindo Putrama Wahju Setyawan said that the activity was carried out as part of the social activities of PT Jamkrindo's 52nd Anniversary series and was devoted to the visually impaired and physically disabled.

"Hopefully this training can help friends with disabilities explore and practice their public speaking skills, so that it can help their self-development and career development in the future," he said in a press release, quoted from Antara, Sunday, June 19.

The public speaking training that was carried out included learning the master of ceremony and was carried out from June 18 to July 4, 2022 in Melawai, South Jakarta.

In this activity, Jamkrindo collaborates with the Speak Project as an institution that will provide training for people with disabilities.

Sandika Dewi Rosalini, as CEO of the Speak Project, appreciated Jamkrindo's steps in providing public speaking training for people with disabilities.

He said the training would greatly benefit the development of soft skills for people with disabilities.

"We give appreciation to Jamkrindo for its initiation to empower friends with disabilities to be more advanced and carry out self-development," he said.

Apart from providing public speaking training, separately, Jamkrindo also provides prosthetic assistance for people with disabilities.

The assistance was given to Muhamad Riki (10 years), Sri Yuniar (9 years), Noermas Nuryadin (30 years), Ahmad Syahril (38 years), and Bima Raditya (13 years).

Ahmad Syahril said his leg had to be amputated in 2016 due to an infection wound that spread to the calf of his leg.

He thanked Jamkrindo for realizing his wish to have a prosthetic leg.

"Thank you Jamkrindo, I hope that after getting a prosthetic leg I can earn a living even more," he said.

Not only providing assistance to people with disabilities, Jamkrindo also carried out various social activities in the anniversary series, including providing assistance for 5,200 pairs of shoes for students, providing social assistance for basic food packages, and implementing blood donations in collaboration with PMI.

The implementation of these social activities is an attempt by the company to not only focus on business, but also to be directly involved in the dynamics of society. To encourage the business sector, Jamkrindo's anniversary took the theme "Transform To Be More Perform", which reflects the company's steps to transform in the company's strategic program.
