Almost Ludes, Train Tickets For October 28 From Jakarta Sold 95 Percent

JAKARTA - PT KAI noted that the highest number of long-distance train passengers will occur tomorrow, Wednesday, October 28. However, he said train travel tickets had sold 95 percent.

"The increase in train passengers is predicted to occur tomorrow, Wednesday, October 28, 2020, which currently have sold 9,284 or 95 percent of the available seats of 9,714," said Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Eva Chairunisa in a written statement, Tuesday, October 27th.

Eva said that the number of passengers would still increase considering that ticket sales were carried out online and go shows before 3 hours of train departure.

Although it is predicted that the highest number of passengers will occur tomorrow, the increase in train passengers ahead of the long holiday at the end of October with departures from Daop 1 Jakarta has been visible since Tuesday, October 27, 2020.

"A total of 9,374 passengers departed from Gambir Station, Pasar Senen and Jakarta Kota today, out of the 10,816 seats provided. Ticket sales reached 86 percent," said Eva.

With the increase in train passengers, PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta also operates additional trains in stages up to 27 trains per day, starting from 27 October to 1 November 2020.

"Additional trains are operated by departing 12 trains from Gambir Station, 13 trains from Pasar Senen Station and 2 trains from Jakarta Kota Station," he said.

The availability of the number of seats prepared is still limited to a maximum capacity of only 70 percent of the total capacity. According to Eva, this was done so that the physical distance between passengers on the train for health protocols could still be applied.

"To avoid delays or lagging behind the train, passengers are advised to carry out a rapid test H-1 before the scheduled departure for prospective passengers who want to take advantage of the rapid test service at the station," he said.

For prospective passengers who are found to be reactive during the rapid test, they are not allowed to travel on trains and tickets will be refunded 100 percent of duty outside of the order fee, and are advised to carry out further medical examinations.
