"The need for sacrificial animals in Sleman for cattle is predicted to be 8,268 heads, while the current availability is 4,260 heads, so there is a shortage of 4,008 heads," said Acting Head of Livestock and Animal Health Division of Sleman Regency DP3 Drh Nawangwulan in Sleman, Antara, Friday, June 17. .

According to him, the need for sacrificial goats reaches around 2,529 heads and the current availability is 2,156 heads and a shortage of 373 heads. "Then the need for 7,082 sheep, the availability of 6,029 heads and a shortage of 1,053 heads," he said.

He said, because of these considerations, Sleman must increase the supply of livestock from outside the region.

"During this PMK outbreak, the mechanism for importing livestock from outside the region will be carried out with strict requirements," he said.

Nawangwulan said, in addition to the Animal Health Certificate (SKKH) and 14-day quarantine, farmers must also improve animal health conditions by providing vitamins.

"Then report to the animal health officer at the nearest animal health center (puskeswan)," he said.

He said, if there are livestock that are not healthy, they must be separated from healthy livestock.

"This strict requirement also applies to traders who will take livestock from Sleman Regency outside the region, including livestock traders who hold the Tiban market in Sleman, they must obtain permission from the kelurahan and Kapanewon (sub-district) which issue requirements for traders of the livestock arrival market," he said. .
