Reasons For The Police Haven't Named Suspects For Alleged Corruption In The Ministry Of Trade's Wagon Procurement

JAKARTA - The case of alleged corruption in the procurement of carts at the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) for the 2018-2019 period has not yet identified a suspect. This is because the Bareskrim Polri investigators are still collecting evidence.

"We haven't (determined a suspect yet). My friends are still working to strengthen evidence," said the Director of Corruption Crimes at the Indonesian National Police, Brigadier General Cahyono Wibowo, to VOI, Friday, June 17.

The collection of evidence is done so that when a potential suspect cannot argue or argue for what he did.

Moreover, evidence is also needed to determine the criminal flow of the alleged corruption in the procurement of the carts.

Then, regarding the nominal loss to the state, Cahyono said he knew about it. However, he refuses to go into detail about it. The reason, regarding state losses will be submitted by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

"There is already a (state loss, ed) for the real value, the BPK will convey it to us later," said Cahyono.

Previously, Bareskrim had examined 40 witnesses related to the alleged corruption case in the procurement of carts at the Ministry of Trade for the 2018-2019 period.

In investigating this alleged corruption case, investigators have already pocketed potential suspects in the case.

"There are (prospective suspects, ed)," said Cahyono.
