Update On COVID-19 As Of October 26: The Number Of Cured Cases Is Bigger Than The New Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 24,413 specimens were examined with the results of 3,222 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 392,934 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Monday, October 26.

The number of cases recovered today is greater than the new cases, with an increase of 3,908. So, a total of 317,672 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 112 people and a total of 13,411 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 906 new cases and a total of 101,897 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 431 new cases with a total of 34,355 cases. East Java has 296 new cases and a total of 51,217 cases. West Sumatra has 269 new cases and a total of 13,060 cases. Then, Riau has 205 new cases and a total of 13,752 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,162 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 442 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 303 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 296 recovered cases.

Then, there are 2 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are Bengkulu and Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 4,351,557. In detail, a total of 4,269,813 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 81,744 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 170,163 people. Currently, 502 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
