Reviewing Cisumdawu Toll Road, Minister Basuki: Make Sure It's Not Bumpy
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono directly inspected the construction of the Cisumdawu Toll Road in Sumedang, West Java, on Saturday 11 June.
He asked the Directorate General of Highways and Toll Road Business Entities to optimize coordination in technical supervision to accelerate the completion of the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Road.
"Make sure the road compaction is carried out as neatly as possible according to specifications by paying attention to drainage and auto-grading so that the road is not bumpy," Basuki said as quoted by Antara, Sunday, June 12.
The construction of the Cisumdawu Toll Road consists of six sections which were built under the Government and Business Entity Cooperation (PPP) scheme with a construction cost of IDR 5.5 trillion.
Of the six sections, Section 1 Cileunyi-Pamulihan is 11.45 km long and Section 2 Pamulihan-Sumedang is 17.05 km long is carried out by the Government.
Section 1 is 100 percent operational, while the physical progress of Section 2 has reached 90.88 percent.
Then Sections 3-6 are carried out by the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT), namely PT Citra Karya Jabar Tol (CKJT). For Section 3 from Sumedang to Cimalaka along 4.05 km, the construction has been completed 100 percent.
Then the construction of Section 4 Cimalaka-Legok along the 8.20 km construction has reached 44.76 percent, and Section 5 Legok-Ujung Jaya along the 14.9 km construction progress is 47.28 percent.
Meanwhile, Section 6 Ujung Jaya-Dawuan has 96.16 percent construction progress.
"Technical calculations for handling landslides which are the obstacles for Section 2 must be determined carefully while still taking into account the second opinion. Bore piles are also increased so that the functional target can be completed by August 2022," said Basuki.

He asked to plant a big tree on the side of the toll road so that people are comfortable and happy when driving through the Cisumdawu Toll Road.
"Slope coverings should be designed using different patterns along the Cisumdawu Toll Road. However, on land slopes that do not require cover, reforestation can be carried out by paying more attention to artistic and environmental values, for example by planting flowers," said Basuki.
Also present to accompany Minister Basuki, Director of Road Development Satrio Sugeng, Head of the DKI Jakarta-West Java Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) Wilan Oktavian, and PUPR Main Expert Engineer Arie Setiadi Moerwanto.
