Haryadi Suyuti Affected By KPK OTT, Yogyakarta City Government Opens Door Of Public Reports Indications Of Licensing Fraud
YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta City Government opens the door to receive reports from the public regarding permits whose issuance processes are indicated or deemed to have violated the provisions and regulations.
“We need input, information from the public. I think which permits may be issued are not in accordance with the regulations," said the Acting Mayor of Yogyakarta, Sumadi, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 9.
According to him, the regional government will not be able to examine the permits that have been issued one by one to find out whether the process of issuing various permits is in accordance with the rules or not.
"It is impossible for us to look at each one by one, but only if it is indicated that it violates the rules. That's why we need input from the public," he said.
The licensing inspection was carried out in connection with the alleged bribery case involving former Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti and the Head of the Yogyakarta One Stop Service and Investment Service (DPMPTSP) NWH, as well as the aide and personal assistant of the former Yogyakarta Mayor, TBY.
The three were also named suspects by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the alleged bribery case for issuing permits for the Royal Kedhaton Apartment to be built in the city.
On Tuesday (7/6), a number of KPK officers searched the Yogyakarta City Hall complex, starting from the mayor's room, the DPMPTSP office, and the Yogyakarta City Housing and Settlement Public Works Agency (DPUPKP). Officers secure various documents related to permits.
Sumadi said that his party had received dozens of reports from the public regarding permits that were deemed to violate the rules and all of them would be immediately followed up by the Yogyakarta City Government.
From the reports that have been received, Sumadi said that there were several commercial buildings whose permits were also reported by the public.
"Again, this is just an observation. We will not convey in detail because a similar case is being handled by the KPK," he said.
