Police Interrogate 16 People Cases Of NasDem Ambulance Burned During Chaos In Pettarani Makassar

MAKASSAR - Police arrested 16 people in connection with rioting on Jalan AP Pettarani, Makassar, South Sulawesi (Sulsel). It is suspected that they were involved in burning the NasDem ambulance.

"The process was handled by the Makassar Police Criminal Investigation Unit. 16 people are suspected of assaulting the NasDem Party office and burning ambulances," said Kapolsek Rappocini, Kompol Ashari, contacted by VOI, Friday, October 23.

The riots in Pettarani occurred when the crowd initially blocked the road on Thursday, 22 October evening. The masses were also involved in clashes with residents.

In the chaos, the NasDem DPC office was damaged. A NasDem ambulance was also set on fire in the middle of the road.

"One unit of a motorbike was burnt, just the frame, one black Toyota Vios car, 4 lighting lamps at the Indomaret mini market which broke due to a stone throw," said Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Kombes Ibrahim Tompo, to VOI separately.

There was also damage to the basement glass door of the Pinisi building. The security post on the UNM Makassar campus was also damaged by throwing stones.
