Armed Criminal Group Shoots Sam Air Plane Landing At Kenyam Nduga Airport, Papua
JAYAPURA - The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) reportedly opened fire on a plane belonging to Sam Air that landed at Kenyam Airport, Nduga Regency, Papua.
"It is true that there was a shooting at the Sam Airplane at around 10.15 a.m. local time," said Nduga Police Chief Inspector Komang, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 7.
Previously, there was a gunfight that resulted in the death of one KKB member around the Trikora field, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Papua.
The head of the Cartenz Damai Ops Public Relations Task Force Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal said the gunfight occurred when the Cartenz 2022 Damai Ops Task Force personnel were on patrol around the Trikora field.
"Yes, it is true that there is one member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) who is an MD, namely An. Lerinus Murib (a member of the KKB led by Bumunggur and Titus Murib)," said Kombes Kamal in a written statement, Monday, May 30.

The KKB member named Lerinus Murib who was paralyzed in a gun battle last week was involved in a number of violent acts.
On April 8, 2021, the perpetrators were involved in the burning of 3 schools in Julukoma Village, Boega District, Puncak Regency. On June 4, 2021, he was involved in a heinous murder in Niporolome Village, Puncak Regency, which resulted in the death of 5 residents.
The KKB member Lerinus Murib was also involved in a shootout with members of the TNI Battalion R 408/SBH in Gome District, Puncak Regency, on January 27. In this shootout, 3 National Armed Force (TNI) members were killed, namely Pratu Rahman, Serda Rizal, and Private Baraza.
