Wow! 875,000 Residents' Land In Jambi Not Yet Certified

JAMBI - The National Land Agency (BPN) of Jambi Province noted that until now there are still around 35 percent or 875,000 residents' land that has not been certified from the certification target of 2.5 million lands.

"The Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) asks residents of Jambi Province to take part in the Complete System Land Registration (PTSL) program," said the Head of Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Yulia Jaya Nirmawati, quoted from Antara, Saturday, June 4th.

Yulia explained, BPN Jambi has certified as much as 65 percent of the land in this area, or around 1.62 million community-owned land, through PTSL which was initiated as a government program in 2017.

Therefore, she hopes that BPN will be able to provide certificates for all parcels of land, so that the community has clarity on the legal status of land and land boundaries.

"Then, it can also reduce land conflicts, because it is clear which object is, who is the subject," said Yulia.

So far, BPN has also made it easier for the public to access information related to land, one of which is through the "Sentuh Tanahku" application that can be downloaded via smartphones.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Jambi Province ATR/BPN Regional Office Wartomo explained the benefits received by the community if they already had a land certificate, one of which could be mortgaged to a bank as business capital.

He also hopes that people who own land but do not have a certificate will immediately join the PTSL program.
