Next Week, The Government Will Give Bonuses To The Winners Of The 2021 SEA Games In Hanoi
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo stated that the central government plans to hand over bonuses to athletes who won medals at the 2021 SEA Games Vietnam next week.
"Next week, the event will be arranged. The bonus will definitely be there, it will be arranged by the Menpora and the Minister of State Secretary," the President told reporters after watching live the Jakarta E-Prix 2022 electric car racing event in Ancol, Jakarta, as quoted by Antara on Saturday.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali, who was also present at the Jakarta International E-Circuit, Ancol.
"So next week the President will give it directly to the athletes and coaches," said the Minister of Youth and Sports.
However, neither the President nor the Menpora disclosed the amount of bonuses received by athletes and coaches who donated the 2021 SEA Games medals for the Indonesian contingent.
Judging from the 2019 Philippine SEA Games, the government gave a bonus of IDR 500 million for single athletes in individual numbers who won gold medals, IDR 300 million for silver, and IDR 150 million for bronze.

Then for the individual doubles athletes who won gold medals, they received a bonus of IDR 400 million, silver of IDR 240 million, and bronze of IDR 120 million.
In the team event, the gold medal earned a bonus of IDR 350 million, silver IDR 210 million, and bronze IDR 105 million.
The Indonesian contingent ended the 2021 Vietnam SEA Games which took place May 12-23 in third place in the standings with 69 gold, 91 silver, 81 bronze, and the results were in line with the expectations conveyed by President Jokowi.
This achievement is better than the results of the Philippines SEA Games which finished fourth. Likewise with the results of the previous two biennial championships, which only finished fifth. Indonesia last won the 2011 SEA Games.
