Update On COVID-19 As Of October 21: New Cases Of 4,267, Accumulated Cases Of 373,109
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 43,586 specimens were examined with the results of 4,267 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 373,109 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Wednesday, October 21.
Today's cases increased by 3,856 so that a total of 297,509 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 123 people and a total of 12,857 people.
The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 1,000 new cases and a total of 97,217 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Followed by West Java which has 657 new cases with a total of 31,907 cases. Central Java has 374 new cases and a total of 30,218 cases. East Java has 327 new cases and a total of 49,801 cases. Then, Riau has 313 new cases and a total of 12,319 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,072 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 550 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 380 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 315 recovered cases.
Then, there are 2 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are West Kalimantan and Papua.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 4,167,210. In detail, as many as 4,086,932 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 80,278 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).
"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.
Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was 162,216. Currently, 501 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
