JAKARTA - The Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, responded to the news that the residents of Solo had learned that the minaret of the Sriwedari Mosque would collapse. Later the news that made the people of Solo excited was a hoax.
Gibran promised to look for hoax spreaders who made the car free day visitor aka CFD Solo panic run wildly away from the mosque building.
"We will find the culprit," wrote Gibran in his Twitter account, @gibran_tweet, Monday, May 30.
Hoax news about the minaret of the Sriwedari Mosque in Solo collapsing hit visitors to CFD Solo on Sunday, May 29 yesterday. Visitors to CFD, young and old, including many families carrying toddlers, ran away from the building which was rumored to be collapsing.
The incident was documented in a video circulating on social media and public WAG. One of them was uploaded by Fara Harsono's Twitter account.
Fara admitted to coming to the Solo CFD. He said the hoax came from a number of people who shouted loudly that the minaret of the Sriwedari Mosque would collapse in the middle of the CFD atmosphere.
At that time, visitors to CFD, which also consisted of many families, ran away. In fact, in the video uploaded by Fara, not a few toddlers who were carried by their parents ran wildly in the CFD crowd away from the mosque building.
Fara said the minaret of the Sriwedari Mosque did not collapse. However, due to the effect of Solo's cloud sky at that time it was bright.
"As a result, the traders who sell a lot of them lose because their merchandise is damaged, they don't pay after the incident, and there are traders who are also doused with hot oil," said Fara, quoted from the Twitter account @faraharsono.
