Ahead Of The Match Against The Indonesian National Team, Bangladesh Coach's Strategy Revealed
JAKARTA - The Bangladesh team has prepared a special strategy to face the Indonesian national team in a FIFA friendly match. Garuda's squad began to focus on deepening defense and preparing quick counter-attack tactics.
The Indonesian and Bangladesh national teams will face each other at the Si Starling Harupat Stadium, Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday, June 1.
Javier Cabrera's squad is currently in Bandung and has undergone several training sessions.
"Today's training focused on the low blocks. The coach intends to show the players how to make a quick attack from the counter-attack and what a defense looks like when the ball goes into the sideline," said assistant coach Hasan Al Mamun as reported by The Daily Star.
Currently all the players in the Bangladesh squad have joined the team. Previously, several players who strengthened the Bashundhara Kings, could not take part because they appeared in the AFC Cup.
In addition to strengthening the defense, Bangladesh is also honing their skills in set pieces.
"Yesterday [Saturday], we worked on how to defend ourselves and what our defensive organization should be because we know Indonesia is a strong team who will play at their home ground. So, our target is to do well against them and take that performance to the Asian Cup Qualifiers. ," added Al Mamun.
After meeting Indonesia, Bangladesh is scheduled to meet Malaysia for the 2023 Asian Cup qualification. Meanwhile, Indonesia will go to Kuwait to qualify for the same tournament.
