Distribution Of Mouth And Nail Disease Cases In Kudus: One Cow Reported Dead, Suspected Of Exposure To Increase
JAKARTA - It is suspected that the number of livestock exposed to mouth and nail disease (PMK) in Kudus is increasing. One cow was even reported dead.
This was conveyed by the Head of Livestock at the Agriculture and Food Service of Kudus Regency, Agus Setiawan. He revealed that the cows that died due to PMK came from Karangbener Village, Bae District, Kudus.
"If previously there were eight cows that were positive for PMK and one of them died, now there are additional cattle suspected of being exposed to FMD," Agus said in Kudus, as reported by Antara, Saturday, May 28.
Meanwhile, the other cows infected with FMD were from Menawan Village and Ternadi Village. Cattle infected with FMD are regularly monitored and given vitamins and a number of measures to restore their health.
Meanwhile, the four cows suspected of being exposed to foot and mouth disease came from Kambangan Village (one cow) and Ternadi Village (three cows).
"Currently we are still waiting for the test results in the laboratory, whether the four cows are positive for PMK or not," he said.
Anticipation of transmission to other livestock, livestock exposed to FMD or suspected of being isolated from healthy livestock.
The Kudus Agriculture and Food Service also conducts investigations to prevent widespread transmission, considering that FMD is also relatively new and not all people know information about how to transmit it and how to prevent it.
Supervision at the entrance to the Kudus City is also monitored, to ensure that livestock entering from outside the area are in good health and not from the FMD outbreak area.
