Gibran Ensures Construction Of The Manahan Street Vendor Shelter To Be Carried Out Immediately
SOLO - Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka ensured that the construction of a shelter for the Manahan Street Vendors (PKL) will be carried out immediately after the distribution of the old buildings.
"If it's all finished (equalization to cleaning) it will take 4-5 months," he said during a mider projo (city tour) activity in Solo, quoted by Antara, Friday, May 27.
Until now, the traders in the Manahan shelter have vacated their selling points. Thus, what will be done in the near future is equal distribution of buildings.
"Let this be leveled first, how fast is the construction. The construction is direct, speeding. It's a pity for traders if it takes a long time," he said.
Gibran also ensures that all traders who previously sold in the Manahan shelter will return to the same location.
"Later we will accommodate everything, no one has been evicted," he said.
Meanwhile, based on data from the Trade Office (Disdag) of the City of Surakarta, the number of traders in the PKL Manahan Solo shelter is currently approximately 130 people.
One of the traders in Surati said that although he had obtained a temporary selling location, he hoped to be able to return to selling at the Manahan PKL shelter.
"I want to keep selling there because the location is strategic. There are also many customers," he said.
