Ridwan Kamil's Child Disappears In The Current While Swimming In The Swiss Aaree River, Wants To Continue His Masters Education

JAKARTA - The son of West Java Governor Ridwal Kamil, Emmeril Khan Mumtadz or Eril, had an accident while swimming in Bern, Switzerland last Wednesday, according to family representatives.

In a written statement submitted by Elpi Nazmuzaman, it was stated that the family was in Siwss looking for a school for Eril which was planned to continue his education to the S-2 level.

"It is true that our brother's first child, Ridwan Kamil, whose name is Emmeril Khan Mumtadz or commonly called Eril, experienced an accident in Bern, Switzerland on May 26, 2022 at noon Swiss time," the statement read.

"Chronologically, Eril swam in the Aaree river, Bern with his sister and friends. When he wanted to rise to the surface, Eril was dragged by a fairly swift current which had previously received help from his friend. The incident occurred at noon in Switzerland with sunny weather conditions," he explained. It was said, at the time of the incident, Mr. Ridwan Kamil was in England on government activities abroad with a delegation from the West Java Provincial Government.

"Eril's condition is currently still being searched by the SAR team and the Swiss police. However, the search has been temporarily suspended because it was getting dark and the plan is to continue tomorrow morning," the statement said.

"Until this information is submitted, the search has been running for 6 hours (May 26 at 23 WIB) and we hope that Eril can be found soon in good health," he said.

He added that Ridwan Kamil immediately followed him to Switzerland after receiving the news of the accident and is currently meeting with his family there.
