IKN Nusantara Vulnerable To Air Attacks, Commander General Andika Perkasa Ensures Maximum Alutsista Deployment

YOGYAKARTA - The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, General Andika Perkasa, guarantees maximum security for the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan.

"The point is that we have to maximize the security of the new capital," said Andika at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Antara, Wednesday, May 25.

He emphasized that he would maximize the main weapon system tools (defense equipment) currently in his possession to support security in the archipelago, the name of the country's new capital.

"The important thing is what (defense equipment) we have, we try to maximize our title there," he said.

Regarding the potential threat of interference and air attacks in the archipelago, Andika has proposed the procurement of weapons systems and additional personnel in the region.

"But what is clear is that it is also impossible for us to get support ideally," he said.

Therefore, according to him, what will be done now is to maximize the existing TNI assets. "Even if there are no new ones, we will shift, relocate our assets to existing points," he said.

Previously, the Governor of the National Defense Institute, Andi Widjajanto, said that the location of the archipelago in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, was vulnerable to threats from outside air attacks.

"Geographically, the Capital of the Archipelago has a high vulnerability to external threats. Especially those from the air," he said, while delivering a scientific oration, at Lemhannas, Thursday, May 19.

Therefore, he requested that the anti-access/area-denial (A2/AD) capacity around the archipelago needs to be strengthened.
