Polri Affirms Have Strong Evidence Regarding The Case Of OUR Top Officials

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri emphasized that it has strong evidence related to the appointment of a number of high-ranking officials from the Coalition for the Action to Save Indonesia (WE).

Karo Penmas of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, said that one of the proofs is the suspect's uploads on social media. In the upload, they were considered to have instigated the community which resulted in a demonstration that turned chaotic.

"Yes (there is evidence), if the investigator has detained someone, suspect someone, there is no doubt," Brigadier General Awi Setiyono told reporters, Friday, October 16.

Thus, he said, the determination of this suspect was no joke. In determining a suspect, the investigator also has two sufficient preliminary evidence.

In the process of investigating this case, of course Bareskrim has asked for information from linguists, Information and Electronic Transaction (ITE) experts, and criminal law experts.

However, Awi did not elaborate on the extent to which the tweets of the US figures could influence the community to create chaos at the demonstration against the Job Creation Law.

"It is the investigator's job to make a legal construction. So, what he said on social media, will then be drawn into the field," he said.

The Bareskrim Polri named 9 people as suspects for spreading hate speech and encouragement related to the chaos of demonstrations against the Job Creation Act.

Of the 9 people, 7 of whom are members and high-ranking US officials, among others, Syahganda Nainggolan, Anton Permana, Jumhur Hidayat, Juliana, Devi, Khairi Amri, Wahyu Rasari Putri.

As for the other two, namely former PKS legislative candidates Kingkin Anida and Dedy Wahyudi, the owner of the social media account @podoradong.

They are suspected of different articles. However, in general they are charged with the ITE Law, articles on hate speech and the spread of hoaxes.
