3 People Died Due To Consumption Of Oplosan Alcohol
SLEMAN - Three people died after consuming adulterated liquor in Karongan Hamlet, Jogotirto Village, Berbah District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region.
"The three victims who died are suspected of consuming adulterated liquor in a junk warehouse in the Berbah area on Wednesday (18/5)," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sleman Police AKP Rony Prasadana, quoted by Antara, Thursday, May 19.
According to him, the three victims who died had the initials AA (42) a resident of Prambanan, STR (42) and TRY both residents of Berbah. "We are still investigating it, because there may be other victims," he said.
The incident began when the three victims together drank a type of mocca drink, at around 04.00 WIB, Wednesday (18/5). "They buy drinks by ordering and paying on the spot (COD) and drinking together at a junk warehouse," he said.
Moments after consuming the drink, one person died, one was critical and another was rushed to Prambanan Hospital.
"But in the end two more people died, so three people died," he said.
The police immediately investigated at the scene and confiscated evidence in the form of remnants of liquor packaged with mineral water bottles.
"We also examined a number of witnesses and examined the victims at the hospital. From the information obtained, before they died, the victims experienced nausea and dizziness," he said.
The police also tracked down the counterfeit drink seller and found two suspects who were selling bootleg liquor on behalf of APS (43) and a woman with the initials FAS (50) who are husband and wife residents of Kalurahan Bokoharjo, Prambanan.
"These two people have been selling oplosan drinks for two years," he said.
When the officers searched their house, it turned out that there was a production site for various mixed drinks, ranging from ciu to mocca.
