JAKARTA - An East Indonesia Mujahideen (MIT) terrorist with the initials MRW who surrendered turned out to be a supporter of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Because, from the results of the examination, he has taken allegiance to the leader of the international terrorist group.
"The person concerned has pledged allegiance to the Amir (Chairman, ed) of ISIS," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Wednesday, May 19.
From the results of the examination, it was revealed that the MRW suspect had attended several trainings or idad. However, it has not been detailed about the location and time of the idad.

MRW surrendered in Bahoea Reko Village, Bungku Barat District, Morowali Regency, on Wednesday, May 18. So far, the reasons behind MRW's decision to surrender to the police have not been detailed.
With the surrender of MRW, a temporary total of 25 people have been arrested.
For the 24 suspects, they were arrested in several locations, among others, 22 people were arrested in Central Sulawesi, one person in Bekasi and another in East Kalimantan. The arrest took place on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
