Electricity Needs For Transjakarta Bus SPKLU Reaches 25,000 Mega Volt Ampere
JAKARTA - PT Mayasari Bakti's Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU), which will serve as a charging station for 30 units of Transjakarta operational electric buses, requires an electricity supply of 25,000 Mega Volt Amperes (MVA).
General Manager of PLN Main Distribution Unit for Greater Jakarta, Doddy B Pangaribuan said his party is ready to support the government in developing an electric vehicle ecosystem.
“Wherever the SPKLU uses PLN, the electricity supply in Jakarta is sufficient to meet various electrical energy needs, including the establishment of SPKLU or home charging for owners of private electric vehicles. The highest peak load in 2022 is 5,351 Megawatts (MW) and there is still a power reserve of 2,700 MW of the total capable power of PLN Jakarta, so supply is still very safe," said Doddy to reporters, Wednesday 18 May.
This electricity supply is one of the efforts to reduce carbon emissions and the use of fossil energy sources.
"This is in line with the DKI Jakarta Blue Sky Provincial Government to support the creation of clean air in Jakarta. In addition, this is also a form of our support and commitment so that Indonesia can achieve the Carbon Neutral target by 2060," he explained.
Meanwhile, Director of Holding PT Mayasari Bakti as Transjakarta bus operator Andy Oetario Putro expressed his gratitude for the fast PLN connection service.
“PLN's service is very fast to provide electricity for our electric bus charging station. In the future, this electric bus will become a new mode of transportation that is more efficient and environmentally friendly, so we hope that in the future we can continue to collaborate well with PLN," said Andy.
Head of the Fleet Engineering Division of PT TransJakarta, Erawan Hermansyah, said the target by 2030 was to operate 10,000 electric buses in Jakarta. The realization of the procurement is currently being carried out in stages.
"This SPKLU in the electric bus pool is the first in Indonesia," said Erawan.
For information, PLN UID Jakarta Raya has established 26 units of public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) in 18 locations.
Two of them are SPKLU with a partnership system.
This year, PLN UID Jakarta Raya targets the operation of seven more SPKLUs. PLN opens opportunities for the private sector to form partnerships in the provision of SPKLU.
