Using A Garbage Burning Machine, The Riau Islands BNNP Destroys Evidence Of Drugs 10 Kg Of Methamphetamine From Overseas

BATAM - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of the Riau Islands Province destroyed 10,129 grams of methamphetamine by using an incinerator (waste burning machine) at the Riau Islands BNNP office, Wednesday, May 18.

"We got 10,129 grams or 10 kilograms of methamphetamine from 2 suspects", said Head of the Riau Islands BNNP Eradication Division, Commissioner Heru Yulianto in Batam City, Riau Islands.

The disclosure of this case began with the arrest of HS (41 years old) on Belukar Island, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands.

"HS was arrested for possessing 10 packs of green Chinese tea brand Guanyinwang which contained 10,129 grams of crystal methamphetamine which he kept in a black backpack", said Commissioner Heru, quoted by Antara.

Then the Riau Islands BNNP officers carried out developments, and again arrested one US actor (42 years) in the waters of Pulau Buaya, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands Province.

Heru explained that the two perpetrators got the illicit goods from abroad which were picked up at the border area by boat.

"So they ship to ship mode, there are those who deliver by ship and those who pick up", said Commissioner Heru.

Heru said that the two perpetrators were lured with a salary of IDR 50 million per delivery.

"But it was divided among several people and only IDR 25 million was paid for oil money", said Commissioner Heru.

For distribution, Heru still has not stated where the illicit goods will be circulated. Because it is still being investigated where it will be circulated.

Of the evidence of methamphetamine confiscated from the suspect, 9,810.77 grams were destroyed. The rest is set aside for trial cases and proving the case in court.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 114 paragraph (2), 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 with a maximum sentence of death or life imprisonment.
