Nurse Deaths Due To COVID-19 So 100 People

JAKARTA - The number of nurses who have died due to exposure to COVID-19 continues to grow. Currently it is confirmed that 100 nurses have died.

"As of Wednesday, October 14, there were 100 nurses who died when they were confirmed positive for COVID-19," he said

Secretary of the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) Legal Aid Agency Maryanto in his statement, Thursday, October 15.

Currently, 2,479 nurses throughout Indonesia have tested positive for COVID-19. Then 188 nurses with suspected COVID-19, 639 had close contact, 68 were probable, and as many as 1,633 nurses had been declared cured of COVID-19.

Maryanto asked nurses who handle COVID-19 patients Maryanto to be more aware of the transmission of the corona virus by using the principles of infection prevention that had been studied.

"Nurses always use the principle of infection prevention and universal precautions wherever and whenever in providing services in accordance with established standards and guidelines," said Maryanto.

In addition, people are also advised to protect themselves and the environment by wearing masks and reducing interactions with fellow family members, for those who experience symptoms of influenza.

This is done to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases being treated in hospitals so that it can reduce the workload of health workers.

"People are encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle by washing their hands more often with soap, eating healthy foods in order to increase endurance and minimize activities in the crowd," he said.

Some time before, the Executive Board (PB) of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) also said that 130 doctors had died from COVID-19.

A total of 130 doctors died, consisting of 67 general practitioners, 4 of whom were professors, 61 specialist doctors, 4 of whom were professors, and 2 were residents. All of these doctors came from 18 Regional IDIs (provinces) and 61 Branch IDIs (City / Regencies).
