The Latest News From British Citizens Of Malaysian Aircraft Crews Who Entered Without Permit To Indonesia

JAKARTA - Three crew members of a foreign light aircraft type DA62 from England who flew from Johor, Malaysia, and passed through the national airspace without a permit, are still in Batam for inspection.

Head of the Air Force Base Operations Service Hang Nadim, Major Elektronik Wardoyo, in Batam, Riau Islands, Monday, May 16, said the inspection was carried out by a team from the Civil Servant Investigator (PPNS) of the Medan Airport Authority Region II Airport.

"We are overseeing the investigation process," said Wardoyo, quoted from Antara.

Because all illegal national airspace crossings are civilians, the handling is left to the local civil aviation authority in Batam.

He also said that during the inspection in Batam, the Malaysian airline had also responded to the incident.

"We have communicated, we are always on standby and continue to communicate during the investigation process," he said.

Last Friday (13/5) the Indonesian Air Force forced a foreign aircraft with the registration number G-DVOR to land without permission to land at the Hang Nadim Air Force Base in Batam. There were three British flight crew members on board.

The capital letter of the registration number G on the top light aircraft indicates that it is registered in the United Kingdom. The white light aircraft was piloted by MJT with a TVB copilot, and CMP as an additional crew member, and the aircraft was known to have a call sign V0R06.

Malaysia has a separate territory from its mother country on the Malacca Peninsula, namely the State of Sarawak on the northern side of Borneo. There is an air corridor between the Malacca Peninsula and Sarawak that was given to Indonesia because the two regions of the country are separated from the territory of national sovereignty from the aspect of sea and air.

However, any air vehicle wishing to pass peacefully in the corridor's airspace must first notify and obtain permission from the Indonesian aviation authority before crossing.
