Six Regions In Bangka Belitung Without Additional COVID-19 Cases, Now Only 7 Patients Still Undergoing Treatment

JAKARTA - The Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel) COVID-19 Handling Task Force revealed quite encouraging data. According to the latest data, six out of seven regions in Babel have no additional cases.

Only Pangkalpinang City experienced an increase in the number of COVID-19 patients. However, only one case was recorded.

With the addition of this one case, the number of COVID-19 sufferers in Babylon was recorded at seven people.

It should be noted that districts/cities that have not experienced additional COVID-19 cases include Bangka, Central Bangka, West Bangka, South Bangka, Belitung, and East Belitung.

"Currently five of the seven COVID-19 patients are being treated at a referral hospital, while the rest are undergoing self-isolation," said Secretary of the Babel Mikron Antariksa COVID-19 Task Force, as reported by Antara, Saturday, May 14.

He said cases of transmission of the corona virus that causes COVID-19 in the Bangka Belitung Islands region continued to decline. Currently, four regencies/cities in Babel have entered the area of the Level 1 restriction on community activities (PPKM).

Pangkalpinang, Central Bangka, Belitung, and East Belitung have entered the Level 1 PPKM area. While Bangka, West Bangka, and South Bangka are still in the Level 2 PPKM area.

Mikron said the local government was still carrying out efforts to prevent and control the transmission of COVID-19, including carrying out vaccinations.
