South Sulawesi Provincial Government Disburses IDR 7 Billion To Complete The Lawewe Lutra Bridge

MAKASSAR - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of South Sulawesi has disbursed a budget of IDR 7 billion to help complete the construction of the Lawewe Bridge, North Luwu.

"This year, we have allocated IDR 7 billion for the construction of the Lawewe Bridge. We hope that the district government can absorb and complete this development, so that the benefits can be enjoyed by the community," said South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman in North Luwu, South Sulawesi, cited from Antara, May 12.

The South Sulawesi Provincial Government continues to encourage equitable distribution of development, including of course in North Luwu Regency.

In 2021, he said, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government had provided financial assistance worth IDR 12 billion for the construction of the bridge.

In 2022, the provincial government again provides financial assistance to continue the construction of the Lawewe Bridge. The financial assistance worth IDR 7 billion is also for land acquisition for the location of the Bungadidi irrigation network

Moreover, in 2021, the Lutra Regency Government had not finished completing the construction of this bridge.

"We ask the district government to immediately build this bridge. Moreover, we know that this is an alternative route and link between Luwu Regency and North Luwu Regency through Lamasi," he explained at the Lutra Regional Representative Council (DPRD) Plenary Meeting in the framework of the 23 Years of North Luwu Regency.

The presence of this bridge is also expected to help and ease the burden on people who sometimes have to pay when crossing the existing paid bridge.
