Here's How The New Membership Gifting Works On YouTube
JAKARTA - Google has just announced that it will launch Membership Gifting in beta for select channels starting Wednesday, May 11.
This subscription plan lets you access user badges, emojis, and other exclusive content from your favorite creators.
For you content creators or loyal YouTube viewers, you must be wondering how to activate Subscription Rewards on your YouTube channel.
You can immediately open the website support.google.com and then search the article entitled "Testing Membership Gifting on YouTube".
Later on that page, Google has put a link to a Google Form that you must fill out if you are interested in getting access to Memberships Gifting. Google you if you qualify as we roll this out over the next few months.
How does Membership Gifting work? Existing channel subscribers click the $ button next to live chat to purchase a membership gift on the live stream. Subscription Rewards are only available for viewers to purchase on desktop live streams. We're working on bringing this to mobile soon! Viewers opt-in to be eligible to receive rewards on the channel. During the Beta, the only way to opt-in is to click 'Allow Gifts' on the rewards membership announcement that is displayed in the live chat when someone has purchased a gift membership. YouTube distributes membership rewards to viewers based on how much they interact with your channel. For example, a loyal audience who constantly watches and engages with your content is more likely to receive a reward membership. Viewers will be notified via private live chat messages and emails if they receive a reward membership! Reward memberships are non-recurring and viewers who receive reward memberships do not have to pay anything to gain access to the benefits.
