Bareksrim Named 5 Suspects Of Hate Speech And Incitement, 4 Of Them US Members

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri has named 5 suspects for the alleged spread of hate speech and incitement related to demonstrations against the Job Creation Law. Those named as suspects are the majority members of the Coalition for the Action to Save Indonesia (WE).

Karo Penmas, Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, said that the determination of the 5 suspects referred to the time of detention after the arrest.

"I have already said that those who are already 1x24 have become suspects," Awi told reporters, Tuesday, October 13.

Referring to the arrest data, those who have been named as suspects include Juliana, Devi, Wahyu Rasari Putri, and Khairi Amri. These four people are members of KAMI Medan.

"Those in Medan have all been detained. And all have been withdrawn for examination at the Bareskrim at the Police Headquarters," he said.

Meanwhile, one other person named the suspect was a former PKS legislative candidate, Kingkin Anida. He was arrested in the South Tangerang area, on October 10.

"The Tangsel (Kingkin) is already over. Already detained," said Awi.

Meanwhile, there are 3 other people Syahganda Nainggolan, Jumhur Hidayat, Anton Permana whose status is as investigated.

In fact, Awi said 1 in 3 people were reluctant to be examined. The reason is waiting for assistance from legal counsel.

"There is also one person who does not want to be questioned waiting for his lawyer. We'll wait," he said.

The 5 people were charged with Article 45 A paragraph 2 of the Republic of Indonesia Law number 19 of 2014 concerning ITE and / or Article 160 of the Criminal Code regarding sedition with a maximum sentence of 6 years in prison and a fine of IDR 1 billion.
