PDAM Quick Action To Handle Murky Water Complaints In Darmorejo Surabaya

SURABAYA - The Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) of the City of Surabaya moved quickly to handle reports of residents related to murky water submitted through the Deputy Chair of the local DPRD Reny Astuti in the Darmorejo area, Kota Pahlawan, East Java.

Manager of Administration and Public Relations of PDAM Surya Sembada, Surabaya City, Binurwati Fitri in Surabaya, Wednesday 11 May, said that PDAM is moving quickly to handle any complaints that come in, including one from a resident of Darmorejo.

"On May 9, 2022, precisely in the afternoon, the officers checked with clear water results. However, in the morning the water is sometimes cloudy," Fitri said as quoted by Antara.

In order to deal with this problem, he continued, PDAM Surabaya needs to install a WO (wash out) or large pipe for disposal. It didn't take long, on May 10, 2022, PDAM officers immediately installed a WO at the end of the alley so that flushing could be carried out regularly.

According to him, PDAM Surabaya always prioritizes customer satisfaction by improving various types of services, both in terms of infrastructure, human resources, and responses to public complaints.

In addition, he said, PDAM Surabaya also guarantees the quality of services that have been implemented with ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO27001:2013 (Information Security Management System), ISO 37001:2016 (Anti-Bribery Management System), ISO 55001 :2014 (Asset Management System), ISO 17025:2017 (Laboratory System and Occupational Health and Safety Management System/SMK3).

Deputy Chairperson of the Surabaya DPRD, Reni Astuti, visited a resident's house in the Darmorejo area of ​​Surabaya on Monday 9 May, who complained that the PDAM water in his house was cloudy and dark brown in color.

Reni said that the village area in Darmorejo is relatively close to the PDAM water treatment plant in the Ngagel area. "I think this is an input. I ask the PDAM to immediately check, what is the problem," he said.
