Palembang City Government Ensures No Employees Skipping Work After Eid Holidays

SOUTH SUMATERA - The City Government (Pemkot) of Palembang, South Sumatra has ensured that there are no employees who skip work on the first day of work after taking joint leave to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah.

Palembang City Regional Secretary Ratu Dewa in Palembang, Monday, May 9, said that the assurance was obtained through reports from the employee disciplinary inspection team.

The inspection team conducted direct inspections of every office of the regional apparatus organization (OPD) and all working sections of the Palembang City regional secretariat.

"My team and I checked directly, thank God, thanks to the facts on the ground, we found that no one had skipped, either state civil servants (ASN) or non-ASN," he said after a sudden inspection of employees at the Palembang City secretariat, reported by Antara.

Based on the digital and written attendance lists, he said, all employees came to work. This indicates that the discipline of employees in the Palembang City Government has increased. He admitted that there were several employees who did not come on the first day of work after the Eid holiday.

The reason for their absence, he said, could still be considered and accounted for by the person concerned.

"For example, one of them is found to have an employee who does not come because he has to take his child to the hospital for chemotherapy, of course, tolerance is given, which is important to report to his superiors and can be accounted for," he said.

He said employees who are found to be absent from work will be subject to sanctions for reducing additional allowances (TPP) and demotion.
