Telkom Plans AGMS In 3 Weeks, Will It Distribute Tens Of Trillion Dividends Again?

JAKARTA - The state-owned telecommunications company, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) plans to hold an annual general meeting of shareholders (AGM) on Friday, 27 May 2022.

In the disclosure of information on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), quoted on Monday 9 May, Telkom management said that the AGMS will be held electronically using the eRUPS provided by the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI).

Some of the agendas that will be discussed are the approval of the company's annual report and the ratification of the company's consolidated financial statements for the 2021 financial year, the ratification of the financial statements, and the implementation of the company's social and environmental responsibility programs for 2021.

Then, the determination of the use of the company's net profit for the 2021 financial year, the determination of bonuses for the 2021 financial year, salaries for the directors, and honorarium for the board of commissioners as well as other facilities and allowances for 2022. The GMS will also discuss changes to the company's articles of association, and the appointment of a public accounting firm (KAP), ratification of the regulation of the Minister of SOEs, as well as the delegation of the authority of the GMS to the board of commissioners.

With the agenda of determining the use of net profit, investors will look forward to the distribution of dividends from this state-owned issuer. Last year, Telkom distributed cash dividends of IDR 16.4 trillion or 80 percent of its 2020 net profit.

Meanwhile, throughout 2021, the issuer with the stock code of TLKM scored IDR 143.2 trillion in revenue. This income increased 4.94 percent from last year's IDR 136.46 trillion in 2020.

Profit for the year attributable to owners of the parent company also increased 19.01 percent from IDR 20.8 trillion in 2020 to IDR 24.76 trillion in 2021.
