Update On COVID-19 As Of October 12: New Cases Of 3,267, Recovering, 3,492
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 39,285 specimens were examined with a result of 3,267 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 336,716 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Monday, October 12.
Today's cases increased by 3,492 so that a total of 258,519 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 91 people and a total of 11,935 people.
The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,211 new cases and a total of 88,174 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Followed by East Java which has 296 new cases with a total of 47,280 cases. West Java has 386 new cases and a total of 27,522 cases. Central Java has 239 new cases and a total of 26,640 cases. Then, Riau has 209 new cases and a total of 10,180 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,086 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 303 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 280 recovered cases, and West Java with an increase of 238 cases recovered.
Then, there are 5 provinces that reported no new cases today. The provinces are Bangka Belitung, West Kalimantan, Papua, West Sulawesi and East Nusa Tenggara.
In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined reached 3,802,093. In detail, 3,735,622 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 66,471 using molecular rapid test (TCM).
"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.4 percent," he wrote.
Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 154,532 people. Currently, 500 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
