Checking Cough Sounds Through HP Can Show Lung Quality

JAKARTA - Technological breakthroughs make life easier to detect coughing sounds for 6 different lung conditions, including lung infections, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), ARI, whooping cough, and bronchitis. Through the Alodokter application, the diagnostic accuracy rate ranges from 87-97%, which means it is as accurate as conventional examinations.

This diagnostic experience was developed in collaboration with ResApp, an Australian digital health diagnosis technology company. This technology was developed by matching the characteristics of the cough sound with a clinical diagnosis. The company has been accredited in Indonesia and Australia.

“What makes this technology different is that you don't need any additional gadgets, just use the smartphone you have. You just have to cough near your smartphone, then in a few seconds, our doctor can immediately find out the diagnosis automatically from the system. This type of smartphone-based diagnostic technology is a new breakthrough for telemedicine because it does not require additional devices. With this technology, it is easier for doctors to diagnose more diseases and provide treatment more efficiently remotely, as well as help patients deal with health problems faster without the need to leave the house," said Suci Arumsari, Suci Arusmari as Co Founder & President. Director of Alodokter.

"The Indonesian government certainly continues to move and strive to provide and support more equitable access to health for all Indonesians, both through health services and health products in the midst of this challenging new normal situation. The government fully supports telemedicine products and technology in assisting the vision and mission to bring better health access to the community," said Setiaji ST., M.Si, Expert Staff of the Minister of Health for Health Technology.

The presence of this innovation is expected to be able to make people feel for themselves the innovative health technology that continues to develop. Innovation in the digital world of health in parallel also maintains data trust from patients/users by utilizing international standards for data protection and security. “ResApp has passed tests in 22 clinical trials and has been published by many medical journals. It doesn't stop there but has also been tested on users of different age groups; children, adolescents, adults, and seniors both in hospitals and clinics. This is the same function as medical tests in general, which is used by doctors to confirm the diagnosis after assessing the patient's symptoms," said dr. Alni Magdalena, Head of Medical Community Operations Alodokter.
