Minister Of Industry Agus Gumiwang: IKM, Large Private Companies, To BUMN Will Benefit From The Job Creation Law

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) revealed some of the benefits contained in the Omnibus Law Job Creation Act for industry. In particular, for the manufacturing sector and the labor industry.

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang said, a good labor sector would certainly support the manufacturing industry and vice versa if the manufacturing industry was good, of course it would also support the labor sector.

The enactment of the Job Creation Law, he said, was able to encourage business for Small and Medium Industries (IKM), macro businesses such as State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and the private sector. Thus, the manufacturing industry can provide benefits to the labor sector.

"Basically, we want to boost productivity, which in turn is very important, so that our products have higher and stronger competitiveness," he said in a video conference, in Jakarta, Wednesday, October 7.

Agus said, the Ministry of Industry is a direct user of the Job Creation Law. This means that with the enactment of this law, the Ministry of Industry will guarantee good implementation for the manufacturing and labor sectors.

"What is the benefit of this law for the manufacturing industry? That I can say from the 9 existing clusters, if we can detail it one by one, it will directly provide great benefits for the manufacturing industry and this industry provides benefits for the labor sector," he explained.

The Minister of Social Affairs said that there are 16 articles in the Job Creation Law relating to the Ministry of Industry. Later, he said, these 16 articles will be discussed into one RPP planning in industry which will cover or cover 5 things.

First is the ease of obtaining raw and supporting materials, this certainly guarantees investment so that investment and production can run well. Second, fostering the supervision of conformity institutions.

Then, third, related to strategic industries. Fourth, the role of society in industrial development.

"Lastly, the procedures for supervision and protection of industry and industrial estate businesses. These are all government efforts to make efforts to accelerate it," he explained.
