Bareskrim Arrests Sabu Courier 40 Kg International Network, 3 Bosses Hunted
JAKARTA - The National Police's Criminal Investigation Team has arrested a young Malaysian drug courier from an international network. During the arrest, methamphetamine-type drugs weighing 40 kilograms were confiscated.
Brigadier General Krisno H. Siregar, Director of the Directorate of Narcotics Crime at the National Police, said that a drug courier named Narji (19) was arrested at Hotel Cordela, Medan. The arrests began with information regarding circulation in the Medan area.
"On September 11, the joint team managed to arrest the suspect Narji, where the first evidence was 23 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine," Krisno told reporters, Wednesday, October 7.
After being arrested, the crystal meth courier was examined intensively. He admitted that he still kept 17 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine at the Swiss-Belinn Hotel. The Bareskrim team immediately traced the confession of the methamphetamine courier.
This young man is known as an international network courier. His network often smuggles crystal methamphetamine from Malaysia to major cities in Indonesia.
"The admission is that this network distributes to Medan, Pekanbaru, Jakarta, Surabaya and Banjarmasin," said Krisno.
In addition, Narji also admitted that this network has three bosses. The first was named Pablo who was in charge of regulating the circulation.
Later, Kakuzo was in charge of buying plane and hotel tickets when Narji was picking up and storing drugs. Finally, JN recruited him as a courier.
"He (Narji) was also recruited by JN when he was still frequently racing in East Java. For the three people, all of them were still DPOs," said Krisno.
From the arrest, the police found many fake identity cards. Narji admitted that all of that was used when sending drugs to various regions. Noted, Narji has delivered drugs five times.
"We are currently investigating whether this KTP is used, but he admitted that he had sent goods five times either to Banjarmasin, Surabaya, Jakarta," said Krisno.
Narji was accused by Article 114 paragraph 2 and Article 112 paragraph 2 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
