Responding To The April 21 Demo, Fadli Zon: Student Voices Are Pure, Don't Infiltrate
JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction, Fadli Zon, responded to the planned demonstration by students and various other elements of society to be held at the DPR and the Palace, Thursday, April 21.
According to him, student demonstrations are a natural expression in a democratic country. In fact, said Fadli, President Joko Widodo also allowed the public to demonstrate.
"I think it's fine. This is also protected by the constitution by the law and from time to time students have become a kind of moral obligation. I have been a student activist, I have also had demonstrations during the student days," said Fadli Zon at the Parliament Complex. , Thursday, April 21.
The member of Commission I of the DPR said that students are relatively pure in voicing the aspirations of the people. According to him, the student movement will always be there if there are crucial problems in the country.
The deputy governor of Gerindra was not worried that the student's actions were infiltrated. Because according to Fadli, students must have their own mechanism as intellectuals.
"They have a mechanism so that they are not infiltrated. Don't be infiltrated, just let the students speak. Their intellectual capacity is to see situations and conditions, because they are future leaders," said Fadli. However, Fadli did not deny that there were elements riding the demonstration. But he believes the students can definitely take care of themselves with their intelligence.
"There will always be unscrupulous elements, but I think the students are purer, relatively have the intellectual capacity of previleg view. People who get the opportunity to study in higher education, of course, take care that they don't want to be ridden by various parties, whether pro or not. against," he concluded.
