Hermes Enters The Metaverse World To Communicate With Customers
JAKARTA – The manufacturer of luxury products and goods, Hermes, is considering using the metaverse for direct communication with its customers. This was explained by the Chief Executive of Hermes, Axel Dumas, told shareholders on Wednesday, April 20.
"We are curious and interested in the metaverse," Dumas was quoted as saying by Reuters, adding that using the metaverse could be a good communication tool for the French company.
At the annual shareholders' meeting last Wednesday, executives signaled plans to maintain a long-term outlook for production and other strategies, after family shareholders voted to block 54% of Hermes' capital, held by parent company H51, until at least 2041.

The use of metaverse in fashion products is not a new thing. At least two shoe and apparel manufacturers such as Nike and Adidas have started using the metaverse as a means of communication. Both also provide merchandise in the form of a metaverse for sale to their customers.
Hermes' entry into the metaverse world could trigger a number of other luxury goods manufacturers to jump into the metaverse world. This could lead to public acceptance of new ways of communicating and increasing sales of metaverse products going forward.
