Police Arrest Thief Octopus Weighing 15 Kilograms In Baubau
BAUBAU - The Wolio Sector Police, Baubau, Southeast Sulawesi, arrested a man suspected of stealing a 15-kilogram octopus that was stored in a warehouse owned by a marine animal entrepreneur.
"The Baubau Police, in this case, the Wolio Sector Police, succeeded in uncovering the perpetrators of the theft by weighting which occurred on Monday, April 18, at around 19.00 WITA at the Matching Bridge, Bone-bone Village, Batupuaro District, Baubau City", said Head of Public Relations of the Baubau Police, Iptu Abdul Rahmat, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 19.
The perpetrator AS bin HR (19), who is a resident of Bone-bone Village, was arrested after the victim objected and reported it to the Wolio Sector Police for legal proceedings.
There is also a chronology of the incident starting at 02.00 WITA when the victim was sleeping at his house. Not long after, the victim's sister woke up and said that there were a lot of people in the warehouse where the octopus was stored.

Receiving the report, the victim then went to the octopus storage location and met Ramadhan and Sahrul.
When they arrived at the warehouse, the perpetrator entered the warehouse and took approximately 15 kilograms of octopus which was stored in a red plastic bag. The estimated loss suffered by the victim was IDR 2.7 million.
It was revealed that the perpetrator had committed theft six times in the warehouse where the victim was stored and caused the victim to suffer a loss of approximately IDR 50 million.
There was also evidence that was secured, namely wet marine products in the form of octopus.
The perpetrator has now been detained at the Wolio Police Station. For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 363 paragraph (2) Subs. Article 362 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of 7 years.
