Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Submits Registration Letter Of 9 Communal KI Certificates To East Barito Regency

BARTIM - The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kanwil Kemenkumham) Central Kalimantan submitted nine certificates of registration of Communal Intellectual Property (KI) of East Barito Regency (Bartim).

"The handing over of this communal intellectual property registration certificate is a form of proof of protection for the communal intellectual property that has been registered," said Head of Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Central Kalimantan Ilham Djaya in Palangka Raya, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 19.

He said as is known intellectual property is a right that comes from human intellectual activities that have economic benefits.

In view of this, intellectual works which include science, art, literature and technological innovations as well as other works have a major influence on the economic growth of the community and industrial development in an area, so they need to be protected.

To that end, the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights also held the promotion and dissemination of Intellectual Property in Bartim. At the event, the Regional Head of Regional Office was accompanied by the Head of the Legal and Human Rights Services Division, Arfan Faiz Muhlizi.

"In the national database of Communal Intellectual Property at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property, nine certificates of Communal Intellectual Property in East Barito will be submitted.

The activity which was held in the East Barito Hall was also attended by the Regent of East Barito Ampera AY Mebas along with the ranks and the Head of the Legal Services Division of Karyadi as well as the Supervisory Officer in the Legal Services Division.

Ilham said that the submission of a communal intellectual property certificate together with the Regent of East Barito was a form of protection for the works, cultural heritage and identity of a region.

"That has been poured from one party and as a form of gratitude to God for His grace that has given us natural resources, especially East Barito," he said.

This activity is expected to be the first step in increasing understanding and awareness of communal intellectual property in the Central Kalimantan region.

The Regent of Barito Timur Ampera appreciated the ranks of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights for helping intellectual property actors, from the registration process to completion, thus contributing to the protection of their intellectual property.

"We are very grateful for the synergy carried out together with the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Central Kalimantan so that we can register communal intellectual property and assets belonging to East Barito can be protected by the state," he explained.

In addition, this year the Bartim Regency Government will re-register 15 intellectual property in the local district.
