Quoted from Antara, Tuesday, April 19, Barty, who retired at the age of 25, last month, will represent the world team captained by Ernie Els against the United States team led by another major tournament champion, Fred Couples.
The first tournament in the Icons Series will be held at Liberty National in New Jersey in June, while subsequent tournaments will be held in Europe, Asia and Australia.
Also participating in the tournament are Pep Guardiola and Harry Kane of football, Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, boxing duo Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya and Ben Roethlisberger of American football.
Barty, a three-time Grand Slam winner during her tennis career, plays a four-handicap at her golf club in Queensland and is engaged to a professional golf coach.
Golf Hall of Fame Karrie Webb and compatriot of Barty, said last month that Barty had the talent to one day be Australia's amateur golf champion.
