Criminal Investigation Police Unravel Cases Of Subsidized LPG Gas Copying In Jakarta And Bekasi

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Certain Crimes, Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, uncovered the act of mixing 3 kilograms of subsidized LPG gas. The mode is to inject advertisements into tubes measuring 12 to 50 kilograms or non-subsidized.

"We are carrying out law enforcement related to the misuse of LPG gas from subsidized kilograms which were then transferred to 12 and 50 kilograms", said the Director of Certain Crimes at the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department, Brigadier General Pipit Rismanto, to reporters, Wednesday, April 13.

The copying of subsidized gas took place in two locations, namely Cinyosong Village, Burangkeng Village, Bekasi Regency, and at Pulo Kambing 3 Street Number 12, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

From the disclosure, two people with the initials FR and JG were arrested. They are believed to be the main perpetrators.

This pollutant is carried out by injecting or transferring gas from 3-kilogram tubes to 12 and 50-kilogram tubes. The transfer process uses a regulator hose.

"Sizes of 12 and 50 kilograms are sold at prices below the standard with markets that may be in small markets or stalls", said Pipit.

From the two locations for copying, 2,214 LPG gas cylinders measuring 3 kilograms were confiscated. Then, 702 gas cylinders measure 12 kilograms.

There are also 54 gas cylinders measuring 50 kilograms, 168 regulator hoses, 6 electronic scales, 2 cars used for transportation, and several notebooks.

The behavior is suspected under Article 40 point 9 of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas, Article 8 paragraph 1 letter b and c concerning Consumer Protection.

"The suspects face up to 5 years in prison and a fine of IDR 2 billion", said Pipit.
