Students And Teachers At 6 Schools In South India's Bengaluru City Immediately Evacuated After Bomb Terror

JAKARTA - Six schools in the city of Bengaluru, southern India, received bomb threats on Friday. The local police carried out checks throughout the city.

"Six schools received bomb threats, search operations are still ongoing and nearing completion and so far nothing has been found," Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant told Reuters.

Neev Academy, an international school in east Bengaluru, said in a message to parents that the threat was sent via email and the school was evacuated immediately as the bomb disposal team conducted a sweep.

"We ask you to remain calm, as the situation is under control and there is no need to panic," read the message, seen by Reuters.

Bengaluru is known as India's Silicon Valley as well as home to multinational companies such as Amazon, Google Alphabet and Infosys.
