Brawls Everywhere, Kak Seto Suggests The Government To Create Expression Rooms For Children
JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the Indonesian Child Protection Agency (LPAI) Seto Mulyadi or Kak Seto assessed that the rampant brawls carried out by minors were due to the absence of a place for expression to be channeled so that they were easily carried away to do brawls.
According to him, when children enter their teens, they will have explosive or uncontrolled emotions. So when he meets someone who invites to do a brawl, he will follow him.
"So these children or young adults have excessive energy, but the energy is not being channeled, while they are under pressure or frustration due to the pandemic," said Kak Seto when contacted by VOI, Friday, April 8.
"This is what makes (the children) explode and there is no further distribution, so they start a brawl," he added.
Then when they do the brawl, the children will feel proud. So he thought what he was doing was right and wanted to repeat the action again.
"Maybe now acts of violence and so on are like their work. I can show this, you know," he said.

In addition, the factor that causes underage children to often engage in brawls is due to mental pressure from their parents, which causes the child to vent their violent actions against others.
"Maybe pressure. Pressure both within the family and in the environment, so the child feels annoyed and takes it out on others," he explained.
Kak Seto suggested that the regional or central government create a space for expression. So that they have a busy life that makes the children do not want to fight.
"So this may be the task of the local government to be able to provide activities and be able to express all the feelings or emotions of these teenagers by working," he said.
