Government Ensures Availability Of Booster Vaccine Stocks During Eid Homecoming
JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Health has ensured the availability of a COVID-19 vaccine for boosters to support the smooth running of the 2022 Eid homecoming period.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said that this was in line with the government's policy of loosening the rules for going home, but on condition that booster vaccinations were carried out.
"What we want to make sure is that from the Ministry of Health, we will ensure the availability of vaccines. So even if there are areas that may be running low, we can assure you that we will immediately refill and distribute them," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 7th.
He also appealed to people who want to go home to make preparations with booster vaccines so that they are comfortable during the trip.
"Don't get in the middle of the road feeling the side effects of fever, nausea, it's not really good. Even though we want to enjoy (enjoy) when going home with family," he said.
Nadia emphasized that booster vaccination does not only apply to travelers, but also when gathering with extended family on Eid.
"And if we gather there must be parents, right, there must be people who have high blood pressure, there are people who have heart disease, there are people who have kidney disease. Now this is what we have to protect because we gather together," he said.
Therefore, he appealed to the public to immediately carry out booster vaccinations.
Even if someone has had a booster vaccination, he said, it doesn't protect 100 percent from transmitting the virus, so it's still necessary to follow health protocols, such as wearing a mask properly.
