Retired Military Officers Involved In TMP Kalibata, Pangdam: There Are No Sanctions Yet
JAKARTA - Pangdam Jaya, Maj. Gen. Dudung Abdurachman, admitted that he had coordinated with the police so as not to impose criminal sanctions on retired officers who were involved in the chaos at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP), South Jakarta.
"For a while until now there has been no sanction. We appreciate it, even though (they) our seniors and I have coordinated with the Regional Police Chief," Dudung told reporters, Thursday, October 1.
In coordination with the police, Dudung ensures that a number of retired officers are only provoked by emotions for a moment. Besides, they had no intention of causing trouble.
Pangdam Jaya will communicate with retired officers to understand the conditions and tasks of the TNI-Polri during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is hoped that a similar incident will no longer be repeated.
"Later, we will communicate with the retired seniors, hopefully they will understand about our duties here," he said.
Previously it was reported that the flower sowing event held by the Retired Guard of State Sovereignty (PPKN) at the Heroes Cemetery (TMP), Kalibata, South Jakarta did not get permission from the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos).
"PPKN made a letter for permission to carry out the pilgrimage at the TMP. Then the letter was shown to the Ministry of Social Affairs but from the Ministry of Social Affairs it was not allowed on the grounds because of COVID-19," said Dudung.
