Herry Wirawan Raping 13 Female Students Sentenced To Death, Their Assets Confiscated To Finance Victims
BANDUNG - The Bandung High Court (PT) Panel of Judges decided to confiscate the assets or assets of the convicted rape case against 13 female students, namely Herry Wirawan.
The chairman of the panel of judges at PT Bandung, Herry Swantoro, said the confiscation was carried out to cover the education and survival costs of the victims' children and their babies until they were adults or married.
"Seize the property/assets of the defendant Herry Wirawan in the form of land and buildings as well as the rights of the defendant in the Manarul Huda Orphanage Foundation", said Herry Swantoro in Bandung, West Java, as reported by Antara, Monday, April 4.
Later the results of the confiscation were decided to be auctioned. After that, the results of the auction were decided to be submitted to the government, in this case, the West Java Provincial Government.
"It is used to pay for the education and survival of the victims' children and their babies until they grow up or get married", the judge said.
Previously, the judge also granted an appeal against the death sentence submitted by the West Java High Court. Previously, Wirawan was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Bandung District Court.

In addition to the death sentence, he was also required to pay restitution of more than IDR 300 million. The verdict annulled the Bandung District Court's decision, which previously freed him from the penalty of paying compensation to the victim.
"The decision to charge restitution to the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia, that this is contrary to the applicable positive law", he said.
