The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency Reminds North Sumatra Residents To Beware Of Rain With Strong Winds

MEDAN - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reminded residents to be aware of the potential for heavy rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds in parts of North Sumatra.

"Be aware of the potential for heavy rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds on the slopes and mountains of North Sumatra in the afternoons and evenings," said the BMKG Region I Medan forecaster Christin A. Matondang in Medan as reported by Antara, Monday, April 4.

In general, the weather in North Sumatra during the day has the potential for light to heavy rain which is likely to occur in the slopes and mountains of North Sumatra.

In the evening, the potential for light to moderate rain will occur in most areas of North Sumatra and in the morning it will be mostly cloudy.

The air temperature ranges from 17-33 degrees Celsius, humidity is 60-95 percent, the wind blows from the southwest-northwest at a speed of 10-30 km per hour, and 11 hotspots are observed in a number of areas in North Sumatra.
